First, the container or box’s strapping needs to be readied. The end of the strapping must then be threaded through the centre of the buckle and looped around the exposed leg. To apply tension, align the top strap so that it is on the shorter end, tighten it around the leg, and then pull the straps’ top ends in opposite directions. With tensioners, the straps can be manually tightened. (The buckle should be held with the right side facing you; one way to remember this is to visualise the shape of a “C” on the buckle.)
After that, place the manual tensioner on the bottom strap about 30 cm above the buckle and squeeze the handle to raise the gripper foot. The bottom strap will go underneath the gripper foot while the top strap goes through the cutter housing and the windlass.
The buckle can then be tightened after the strap has been entirely adjusted and is starting to sag. Squeeze the tensioner’s handle to cut the strap and move the tensioner away. The legs ought to close when the strap is tightened if the buckle is constructed from premium, durable steel. Poor quality soft wire steel was utilised if the buckle was broken or the legs were unfastened.
This is how to tie a better knot using a composite strap.
